Policies

Confidentiality

All information discussed during sessions is strictly confidential.

If it is determined that someone is in danger or if a file is subpoenaed, confidentiality will be waived. This policy is in accordance with the code of ethics of the Canadian Association of Social Workers and the Canadian Psychological Society.

Cancellation

If there is a reason why you are unable to keep your appointment, 24 hours notice is required. To run my practice efficiently and fairly, if 24 hours is not provided, a charge will be applied for the missed session at the regular hourly rate, apart from exceptional circumstances. Discretion will be applied. This allows me to assure availability for your next appointment.

Payment

It is expected that payment be made at the beginning of each session. This will allow you to budget and keep the financial impact to a minimum. Payment may be made by cheque or cash. Preparing the cheque in advance prevents distraction and loss of therapeutic time. If you wish you pay by credit card or debit, it is expected that payment be made before the appointment through our website via Paypal, as we do not have these machines in our office. The cost of the session may be fully or partially covered by your benefit plan. It is solely the responsibility of the client to recover the cost of therapy sessions if it is covered by extended health plans.
